    Good News from the Dr.

Wednesday, October 10, 2007, 09:36 AM CST [General]

Well, for those that have been following the most horrid two weeks of my life...we finally got the Amnio results back today. Everything came out normal....and Brooklynn is still a girl. It's been a long two weeks...Savannah has been gone for one of those weeks and that has made time DRAAAAG on so slowly. We're going to TX this weekend to go pick her up. I miss her MADLY. I can finally let go of all the what if factors.....I didn't know how I was going to tell Savy she wouldn't have a baby sister comming....I didn't know how I was going to deal with possibly losing Brooklynn in Utero, or delivering early, or carrying through and losing her shortly after anyway. It was so much going on in my head I could barely function.

But today when we found out, it was like a huge weight was lifted. You ever stand in an open doorway, and try to push your arms out as hard as you can ...lifting them up while the doorway holds them in place?? Then step away from teh doorway and your arms just float up in the air from that previous pushing.....it's the neatest science trick.....and that's exactly how my body felt today when i heard the news....Huge relief and floating.

Thanks to everyone who was there for me...with prayers, or even just kind words......every bit of it meant so much!!

    Thank You!!

    Potty training

Thursday, August 30, 2007, 11:50 PM CST [General]

No one freaking told me how hard potty training was going to be, nor what an inconvience. I never really realized how diapers just made things easier...sure you have to change them, but you dont have someone in the back seat of the car saying I gotta go potty as soon as the pull out of the driveway. This is soooo hard.

Anyway, Savannah has been doing really good while we are home, expecially since I sometimes let her run around in her 'naked booty'. She has even went twice today on her own to the potty climbed up all by herself and went pee pee all on her own. I'm so proud of her. I started out with her Gummi Bear vitamins as her prize. She would get a vitamin for going pee pee in the toilet...which actually turned into two vitamins. So she is barely done peeing before she is saying 'i want twooo vitamins'. Over the last couple of days I realized a large amount of vitamins were gone. So I had to think of something else b/c I am not sure about that many vitamins in a day. I went online and downloaded a Dora Potty chart so now she gets stickers on her chart when she goes potty. BUT she still wants the vitamins. So I went and bought sugar free gummi bears that she will now get instead of a million vitamins. When you see this chart you will see why I was a bit worried. I knew she was peeing alot but I am soo proud of her for today. The ONLY time she peed in her pull up was during her nap. I know this is a boring blog, but this is my life. Keep in mind with the chart she did poop in the potty one time today and she got two stickers for that. But at least the chart also helps me to see how many times she is going. Which is alot, and I've heard that may taper as she learns to hold it a bit. I also told her that once her chart if full we will got to the store to but a present. I thought it might take a week or so before it was full, but if she keeps going at this rate...man...I'll be buying a present by Sunday. I'm hoping to have 3/4 trained by her 2yr birthday....and fully trained by time Brooklynn arrives. This is hard...so hard.

    Finally

Thursday, August 30, 2007, 03:19 AM CST [General]

Well, I finally remembered my password so I can sign back on here, and I added some pics and videos. What a long process. It's now 3am so I'm about to go to bed, but don't really want to overlook something since the day hasn't officially ended for me yet.

Today is the 2 year anniv. of Hurricane Katrina. I don't want to go on about my sob story but I do want to say what a difference 2 years makes..well to some people with $$. We're not a rich family, but we're rich in love (violin strings I know). It's only been 2 months since Savannah finally got her own room b/c we had all (myself, husband, and two puppies) had been living in one room since the Hurricane. We've finally progressed enough to actually be in a livable state. I do know alot of people who bounced back SUPER fast, but sadly b/c at the time of the Hurricane my sister in law owned this house (it was an investment thing for her-even though we paid the mortgage), but she didn't live in it, so we weren't able to get insurance or road home money like alot of other people we know.

Anyway, every little bit of re-building was done by my husband....every piece of drywall, flooring...you name it..he did it. Looking back after all we've been through, I just want him to know I couldn't be more proud of all he's done for us. I had Savannah 2 weeks after the Hurricane and endured alot of crap......but 2 years later, I have this beautiful, healthy, smart little girl, and roof over our heads and I couldn't be more grateful. We have another little girl on the way in Feb. and I can only hope to be as blessed the second time around (although if your listening God....I could do without a Hurricane this time- Belive me I've learned I don't need alot of 'stuff' to be happy- but would like to continue to keep what we do have)

So that's all I'm going to say on that subject.

    G'night
